For anyone who read the negative reviews
left by Jen Rivera on Yahoo Local and Trip Advisor…here is the
rebuttal. At check in, every
customer is required to sign a document that states they agree to and
will abide by our policies . One of our policies is, you break it, you buy it. We
also do not tolerate public drunkenness. Someone in Jen’s group broke a
chair belonging to her cabin after a night of partying. She threatened to spam the web with bad
reviews if we charged her. We charged her and thus the reviews…which are
liable, and will be dealt with legally.
As for the complaint that our cabins leaked during hurricane
Irene, that is true. Unfortunately log cabins are not good at keeping out
70mph wind driven rain. We apologize. Brett & Mica Holleran

This campground is beautiful with a
terrific 'mountain-top' view. Absolutely quiet with gorgeous trees and
CLEAN bathrooms very close to the camp sites. I stayed in a tent and slept
like a baby. My son played baseball next door at All Star Village so I
turned in the rental car and just walked about a mile to the ballpark
every day and saved a ton of money; there are some hills though. The
owners/managers are a really sweet couple and will do everything to make
sure you enjoy your stay. Seriously, the showers and bathroom are
probably cleaner than your hotel.

I have stayed in many a campground over the years. Deer
Haven is the best by far. They are everything they say. The view from
the grounds is fantastic. I never knew New York could be so
beautiful. If your boy is playing at the All Star
Village, your
drive is less than 2 minutes. How's that for convenience! The owners
are very friendly and accommodating. The RV sites are spacious.
Although we didn't stay in one, the cabins look great. The bathroom and
showers are just like being at home. Very clean and serviced daily. You
can't go wrong by staying at Deer Haven. WE WILL BE BACK! Steve

“great
experience at Deer Haven”

My family stayed in a
cabin at Deer Haven over the summer and loved it! The cabins are adorable,
and we loved sitting on the front porch looking out at the gorgeous views
from the mountaintop. The kids loved the brand-new pool too....having a
pool was a big plus!! The owners were really nice and very helpful. We
already booked for next year, It was right across the street from the All-Star Village and soccer Hall of Fame,
and also close to Cooperstown, so it was a fantastic location. We loved it!

we had an entire cabin....not cramped in a hotel room. And the
price is right!
- Disliked — Nothing...it was
great.

What a
wonderful campground! The location is perfect for any family with a son
playing ball at All Star Village. The owners were eager to help whenever
you needed them. Everything is clean and well taken care of. The pavillion with a fire pit and volleyball net and horeshoe pit was a bonus! The view is breathtaking
and the atmosphere is relaxing. I would stay there again in a hearbeat! We camped here in a Tent.

What a great
find this place is! We camped here for my son's Cooperstown week and
truly enjoyed ourselves. We were only a two minute drive from the
village. This is a family owned business and the owners will go out of
their way to please you. A very peacefully and relaxing atmosphere. Pool,
restrooms, and grounds were well maintained. The only reasons for the 9
rating were the steep driveway and only 2 showers for the facility. We
will go back without a second thought. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
* Good news, while we can’t change the hill, we just purchased
another bathhouse to try and make the last review a 10! Deer Haven – May 2011

This is
the second time we have stayed at this campground. We stayed here because
it is close to the AllStar Village that our son
played in. We loved being here! The view is beautiful, the owners are top
notch, and the location is peaceful. The owners are constantly making
improvements. They have added a mini playground area and laundry
facilities were being added right when we left. We will camp here again
with out any hesitation. Thanks for a great week! We camped here in a
Fifth Wheel.

We stayed at Deer Haven last summer and
enjoyed it fully! The vista is gorgeous from the mountaintop cabins,
everything was clean and well maintained, and our kids loved the pool and
playground. The owners were also really helpful and gave us lots of tips
to help make our stay in the area lots of fun.
NOTES LEFT BY GUESTS
Greetings from Canada! All of us
just wanted to say that we were so pleased to stay in such a
professionally well run outfit such as yours. Your expertise and friendship
abilities are unmatched to anywhere else we've gone as of late. Your
standards are also far and above beyond any of our expectations that we
could ever have imagined. The views are spectacular and we miss them so
much that we are trying to plan to come back and see you all as soon as
we can, though probably not this year again. Our trip home was
fortunately uneventful for us and we made great time getting home as
April drives like Tony Stewart, but still can't get either one to finish
in first place, GO JIMMIE GO! Anyhow next time we come we will bring some
of the 7% Canadian beer you so desperately crave. Hope the kids are well
as we trust you are, hope you are looking
forward to getting back to school soon. We had two of your serviced
sites near the bath house and were in there July 8 - 16, 2011. Ciao for
now if you want touch base with us now and again as we will try to as
well.
Happy we came
We just wanted to thank you for a wonderful stay during our
baseball tournament July 1-8. You are all so friendly and
helpful. The two of you have truly created a first class
campground. We have done our review on RV parks and have given you
the top rating.
I also loved playing and hanging out with your two little ones.
Best of luck in the future.
We all had a great stay at Deer Haven. Your hospitality was
outstanding. Thank you
for everything.
Deer Haven,
Thanks for a relaxing, enjoyable place to rest our feet and
bodies. Your readiness to help and
your lovely property has made our stay, “one to remember”.
